Grok Imagine / FIELD NOTES
Save the right file from a Grok Imagine post
A Grok Imagine creation can lead to a video result or an image result. Grok Downloader uses the media available on the individual public post, so the file choices appear after the link has been checked. The same set of buttons is not available for every post.
Availability is conditional: the creation must be public, and its media must allow guest access. If Grok restricts the file, return to the original creation and use the download or export options available in your account.
Download your own work or content you have permission to save.
Decide whether you need the animation or the image
Open the work itself before copying a share address. A screenshot of your Imagine library, the library URL, or a conversation about an image does not identify a supported media post. The accepted address has grok.com/imagine/post/ followed by a post ID.
When a post provides a video, this tool uses that video. If no video is provided and an image source is available, it treats the post as an image. It does not collect every variation attached to a creation or return both a video and all related generated pictures. A video’s JPG choice is specifically its first frame.
Choose by purpose, then by file type
Source downloads retain the accessible file. Conversions change the representation, and sometimes reduce it: a GIF uses fewer frames and a 480-pixel width, while a video still contains only one moment. Saving a PNG from another image format does not restore detail that was absent from the source.
| Your purpose | Starting point | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Keep a video for editing | MP4 source from a video post | The downloaded clip contains the expected motion and sound |
| Use a short animation | GIF conversion from a video | The first 15 seconds contain the moment you need |
| Keep a generated image | Image source from an image post | The preview is the intended image, not a video frame |
| Use a different image format | PNG, JPG, or WebP when offered | The receiving app accepts the chosen format |
Use batch mode for a selected group
For several creations, place up to 10 individual post links in batch mode, one per line. Each receives its own result, so one inaccessible post does not mean the other links are unusable. Review the successful previews before choosing a ZIP.
The ZIP gathers accessible source files and has a combined 200 MB limit. It is not a library backup, does not discover more posts, and does not gather converted formats. If you need GIFs or JPG frames, prepare those from the individual video results. Only one conversion can run at a time.
Keep your creative notes separately
A saved creation is only part of a useful archive. Keep a descriptive title, the original post address, and your own notes about the prompt or project. Grok prompt text and generation settings are not exported by this downloader, so do not rely on the media file to recreate that context.
Save results within the 10-minute session window. For private work, conversations, or account-wide data, use the controls provided by Grok. A public media tool does not need your password, account cookies, or account archive to check an Imagine post.
Questions about this guide
Can one link return every version of a creation?
No. The tool uses the individual source exposed by the supported public post. It does not enumerate variations or related creations.
Why did I receive video choices for an image I animated?
The shared post provides a video, which takes precedence. A separate image needs its own supported public post and accessible image source.
Can I download my whole Imagine history?
No. Batch mode checks up to 10 links you supply; it does not browse your history or saved library.
Will converting the image change its watermark?
This service does not remove watermarks. Any visible source mark carries into the converted image.
