Grok Imagine / FIELD NOTES
Download a public Grok Imagine video
An Imagine video is easiest to keep when you begin with its individual post link. Grok Downloader can check that public page and offer the video source if Grok also makes the file accessible to guests. The result depends on access to both the page and the media.
If you see a restriction message, use the download options available on the original creation in Grok. Signing in to Grok in another tab does not give this independent website access to your account.
Download your own work or content you have permission to save.
Start with the exact clip you want to keep
The preview is a useful identity check, but it is not a saved copy. Keep the downloaded file in a folder you can find again. For a project with several versions, add your own descriptive filename and keep the original post address in a nearby note.
- Open the individual video in Grok Imagine and use the sharing option available for that creation.
- Check that the copied address starts with https://grok.com/imagine/post/ and ends with a post ID, rather than leading to a chat or library.
- Paste the address into the downloader and submit it. If access succeeds, check the preview and title to confirm the creation.
- Choose the MP4 source when it is listed. Wait for the browser download to finish before opening the file or importing it into an editor.
Understand what each video choice keeps
These choices are not alternative quality levels of the same video. Saving the source avoids another video encode here. GIF and JPG intentionally keep less of the clip, and MP3 keeps only its audio. No choice adds missing detail, selects a later frame, or removes an existing watermark.
| Choice | What it contains | Best reason to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| MP4 source | The accessible published video file | Keep the clip for playback or further editing |
| GIF | Up to the first 15 seconds, without sound | Use a short animation where GIF is required |
| MP3 | A converted audio track, if present | Keep the existing sound separately |
| JPG | The first video frame | Create a simple still reference |
Keep a clean starting copy for your project
Open the saved MP4 and check the beginning, end, and audio before importing it into a larger project. Keep this source copy separate from later edits so you can return to it without downloading again. A messaging app may recompress a file you send, so retain your local copy as well.
This service limits individual sources to 200 MB and conversion processing to 10 minutes. You can check up to 10 post links together, but a combined source ZIP must stay within 200 MB. For a larger set of your own creations, save smaller groups or use Grok’s own account tools where available.
Questions about this guide
Can I download a video from an X post?
An X post URL is not accepted here. Open the linked Imagine creation and copy its supported grok.com/imagine/post/ address, if one is available.
Why is my saved video not HD?
The service saves the accessible published file. It does not find a hidden higher-resolution version or upscale a lower-resolution one. Check the export choices in Grok for your own creation.
Can I save a silent MP4?
There is no separate mute-video conversion here. The MP4 source keeps the audio, if any, supplied in that file.
Does the source download expire?
The temporary result session expires after 10 minutes. A file already saved on your device is independent of that session.
